CISI Accredited Financial Planning Firm TM

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) sets standards of professional excellence and integrity for the securities, investment and Financial Planning industry. It also provides qualifications and promotes the highest level of competence to its members, individuals and firms. As an Accredited Financial Planning Firm ™ we meet the CISI’s rigorous ethics, experience, competence and professional practice standards. Currently there are less than 80 firms in the UK to receive this accreditation.

 

 

Chartered Financial Planner Firm

We’re one of only 700 firms in the country to be awarded the prestigious title of Chartered Financial Planners by the Chartered Insurance Institute. It shows how committed we are to developing and maintaining the knowledge and capability of our people so we can deliver the highest quality advice.For more information click here.

It also means that we’re committed to continuing professional development and must follow a demanding Code of Ethics set by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). You can view the Code here.

The British Standard

BS 8577 is a British Standard designed to assess and award financial planning firms who can demonstrate that they have the operational framework in place to deliver a first class service to their clients. Berry & Oak was awarded the standard in October 2018, making us one of a small but growing group of financial planning firms in the UK to have achieved this prestigious award. The service that we provide to our clients is of the upmost importance and in order to benchmark our service and internal processes against the British Standard of best practice, the business entered into a rigorous process of assessment. The Feedback from our assessment was “The business is well organised, with good processes in place and together this has created a solid foundation of best practice, from which to achieve all their ambitions. Very well done!”

Internation Standard – ISO 22222

International Standard – ISO 22222 was created to achieve and promote consumer confidence by providing an internationally agreed benchmark for a high global standard of personal financial advice.

As holders of this standard, we have to adhere to specific requirements and follow a framework that covers ethical behaviour, competencies and experience. We are very pleased that all of our advisers passed this standard first time. For more information click here.

We are a proud member of the ISO 9001 family, a standard that is based upon a number of sophisticated quality management principles. These include a customer focus, strongly motivated management, and the use of continual improvement and a process approach. Retirement Planner– Best Individual Pensions Advice Firm of the Year Award 2019 – The North and Scotland

Berry & Oak are very proud to have been recognised as one of the best pensions advisers in the region. Berry & Oak were also finalists for this award in 2018. The judges, which included the CEO of the Personal Finance Society (the largest professional body in financial services) and both current joint chairs of the Society of Later Life Advisers (a not for profit consumer organisation) based their decision on ‘qualifications, commitment to their clients and the company’s expert pension advice’.

Adviser Firm of the year – North East

This award seeks to award and highlight “outstanding financial advice processes” by the completion of a complex case study, along with a detailed submission explaining about Berry & Oak as a firm and how we assess and manage risk in our business, for both ourselves and our clients. We were delighted to win this award and retain the title of Adviser Firm of the Year – North East, having also won the award in 2019.

Adviser Firm of the year – UK

The Adviser Firm of the Year category was narrowed down to 36 finalists from around the UK, across 6 regions. The judges then chose the firm that they believed was the overall winner with Berry & Oak scooping this prestigious award for 2020.

Winner – Best Client Engagement (Advisers)

For this award we had to tell the judges how, why, when and in what way we engage with our clients and show that we have gone the extra mile to communicate effectively with our clients. This was judged by an expert panel who reviewed and assessed our newsletters, website blogs, presentations and social media, as well as documents we use face to face with our clients in meetings and the client seminar events that we have run. We were delighted to win this award having been “Highly Commended” for this award in 2019
