Melanie started her career in Financial Services 20 years ago as an administrator for financial advisers, but soon found her vocation was on the compliance side ensuring that advisers provide suitable advice for their clients. Melanie joined Berry & Oak in September 2019 as our Compliance and Governance Executive.
Melanie is married with two children and is Assistant Cub Leader at her local scout group and enjoys reading and yoga.

What does the day in the life of a Compliance and Governance Executive look like?
For me, no two days are ever the same. I help to manage the risk within Berry and Oak; this involves ensuring we have sufficient and robust policies and processes in place for all staff to follow, to meet the requirements of our regulator and provide best outcome for our clients.
What are your top three life highlights so far?
1. Having children
2. Completing the Go Ape tree top activity course
3. Being on the winning team at Family Scout Camp and being awarded the much coveted Golden Peg.
What is an ability you wish you had?
To be artistic – I love to art and craft but my finished piece is always rubbish!
What’s currently top of your bucket list?
Shopping in New York at Christmas time and see the Central Park Christmas tree

What’s the one talent you have, that people would be surprised to know about you?
I can knit. I recently taught myself using a book for 7 year olds!
