Our biggest concern was how we would afford to carry on enjoying life the way we did, and possibly more so, since we’d have plenty more time on our hands.

Why did you need a financial planner?

I felt I needed advice, because to drop an employment with a regular salary and move into an environment where you now have a totally different source of income is quite a bold move.

How did Berry & Oak help you? 

When we first went to see Andrew, it was very much about my pension, but as time went on and our working relationship grew, we talked about inheritance and the potential of Inheritance Tax on my late mother’s estate. At the time, she was about 89 years old.

It’s given us reassurance that we have the freedom to travel and enjoy ourselves. We have explored areas of the world that we had always aspired to but didn’t know whether we could actually afford. We have been on a fantastic five-week holiday in New Zealand. Talking to Berry & Oak and working with them has given me total peace of mind financially.
