Our finances were all over the place and needed tidying up. We needed a plan for the future.

Why did you need a financial planner?

John  

We decided to go to Berry & Oak to see if they could help us arrange our finances so that we could retire and help our sons out.

How did Berry & Oak help you? 

Pamela  

At one time, we didn’t think you would be able to retire as early as you have. Our plan was that you were going to work a lot longer than I was. It was in one of our meetings when Andrew asked, “What are your hopes and dreams? What would be fantastic for you?” It came up as an option that it would be nice if you could retire as well, and he said, “Well, let’s have a look at that, let’s see what’s possible.” We now have a long-term plan, which is something we’ve never really had before.

John  

We’ve never had, no.

And it was through Andrew’s hard work.

John  

We both have a lot of confidence in what they’re telling us, and certainly, that’s bearing fruit in the way things are going for us.

What is it like working with Berry & Oak?

Berry & Oak has a unique quality about the way they work. They put us, the clients, at the heart of everything that they do, and it’s done in a very caring way. You actually feel as if you’re part of a family.

What’s been the benefit to you, working with Berry & Oak?

John  

Last year we had a drive around France, Germany, and Belgium. We just set off on whatever day we wanted and came back on whatever day we wanted. It was just wonderful to do that; it’s a release, it’s a freedom, and that’s important.
