This October, the Berry & Oak team ventured to Krakow for a weekend of team bonding, historical exploration, and cultural immersion. Hosted by Andrew and Sarah, our itinerary offered a mix of impactful experiences that left us inspired, connected, and more focused as a team. Here are the highlights from our unforgettable Krakow adventure.
Reflecting on History at Auschwitz-Birkenau
One of the most profound experiences was our guided visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. Walking through this historical site, led by an insightful local guide, brought history to life and gave us a powerful sense of perspective. As a team, the visit allowed us to reflect deeply, providing a meaningful pause for remembrance and gratitude, which resonated with us all.
Exploring Krakow Through Adventure
Our time in Krakow was also filled with lighter, exciting moments that brought us closer as a team. An “Undercover City Game” led us on an interactive journey through Krakow’s Old Town, where we worked together in two teams (there was a bit of intense rivalry 😊) to solve clues, complete tasks, and explore the city’s historical charm. This treasure-hunt-style experience offered everyone the chance to showcase their problem-solving skills and creativity, all while navigating Krakow’s iconic sites.
Savouring Polish Culture Through Food and Drink
Of course, no visit to Krakow would be complete without sampling the local cuisine. During a spirited vodka and food tasting tour, we were introduced to Poland’s rich culinary traditions, tasting a variety of local vodkas and authentic Polish tapas. We ventured through Krakow’s lively alleyways, visiting traditional bars and cafes and trying delicacies like pierogi, smoked cheeses, and cured meats. The evening was a fantastic way to relax, laugh, and enjoy a taste of Polish hospitality together.
Strengthening Bonds and Fostering Vision
Our trip also included a productive business session that brought clarity to our goals and strengthened our commitment to our shared mission of being the best financial planning business in Yorkshire, if not beyond and helping our clients maximise their lives, without the fear of running out of money. This session, set in the inspiring environment of Krakow, allowed us to reconnect with our values and plan for the future in an engaging, open setting.
A Lasting Impact
Our Krakow trip was a memorable experience that underscored the strength of our team spirit. From moments of quiet reflection to exciting discoveries, the weekend left us feeling inspired, connected, and energised to bring this renewed perspective into our work. We look forward to sharing some of our favourite snapshots from this journey with you all.
Thank you to the team for making this whole trip so memorable.
