Lily joined the Berry & Oak team in July 2021, as a Graduate Trainee, having recently finished her BA (Hons) Business and Management degree at Leeds Beckett University. Lily hopes to become a Certified and Chartered Financial Planner at the end of the 5 year training program. Lily is initially spending time learning about Berry & Oak, supporting the administration team and working through her exams towards the Diploma in Financial Planning.

At home

Outside of work, Lily is a keen hockey player and she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

What do you like about working at Berry & Oak?

Even in the short time that I have worked here, everyone at Berry & Oak is so accommodating and welcoming, it really does have a family atmosphere. I feel as though I could ask everyone a query and they will always have time to help.

What does the day in the life of a Graduate Trainee look like?

No two days are the same. Currently, we are learning all the different processes and software Berry & Oak use to provide excellent service for their clients, so we can help everyone else in their tasks. When I have free time, I concentrate on my apprenticeship work, which I hope will enable me to become a Chartered Financial Planner.

What are your top three life highlights so far?

Completing all three Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland
Skydiving

What is an ability you wish you had?

To be able to mind-read.

That’s currently top of your bucket list?

My bucket list is full of things as I am only young. But I definitely want to go on a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, and buy my own house.

What’s the one talent you have, that people would be surprised to know about you?

I used to play hockey at county level.
