In the spotlight
What do you like about working at Berry & Oak?
That Berry & Oak has a small tight-knit team where everybody is keen to help others develop. The sense of teamwork also ensures that everybody does their part in delivering the best service and outcomes for our clients.
What does the day in the life of a paraplanner look like?
As a paraplanner within an advice firm, no two days are ever the same. You may find me completing technical work, such as compiling a report or completing research that supports the recommendations made for a client by our Financial Planners. Conversely, a paraplanner may also sit in on a client meeting with the Financial Planner where the client has particularly complex planning needs that would require a paraplanner’s attention following the meeting.
What are your top three life highlights so far?
- Watching whales during a holiday travelling around New England, US.
- Obtaining my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and scoring the highest average mark that year for all candidates in the local Newcastle Chartered Insurance Institute.
- Meeting my partner, Charlotte, and getting our first pets together.
What is an ability you wish you had?
The ability to fly through space without a ship/suit.
What’s currently top of your bucket list?
To play Pebble Beach golf course.
Which song gets you on the dancefloor?
What’s the one talent you have, that people would be surprised to know about you?
I used to be a 1 handicap golfer – people would be surprised at that if they saw me play golf now.
